Your family and friends might be a big part of your support system. They care about you, want the best for you, and are often the first people you turn to when life gets hard. But sometimes, even with all the love and good intentions in the world, they’re just not the right people to help you work through certain struggles.
That’s where I come in—and why talking to a counselling therapist like me can feel so different.
When we talk, you’re in a safe, judgment-free space where you can be completely honest without worrying about how I’ll react. You don’t have to filter your thoughts or protect my feelings. You can just be you—confused, frustrated, overwhelmed, unsure—and that’s more than okay. I won’t treat you differently for it next week, either.
I’m trained to listen in a particular way: to stay curious, neutral, and present. I won’t just tell you what you want to hear or offer quick-fix advice. Instead, I’ll help you understand what you’re feeling, why you’re feeling it, and what you can do with that insight. Yes, I will ask you the stereotypical how do you feel about things—and I’ll really mean it. I’ll also offer tools to bring you into the present moment and process those feelings. I can also give strategies that actually work, along with a fresh perspective that isn’t shaped by your personal history.
And maybe most important of all? You never have to worry about being a burden. Supporting people through tough times isn’t just my work—it’s my calling. I am skilled and trained in various holistic methods of psychology and see you as a whole person.
So if you’ve been needing to talk, but aren’t sure where to start, I’m here. Counselling isn’t a last resort. It’s a strong, empowering choice to start feeling better without being judged.
